WHO ARE WE AND HOW TO FIND US?

The Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society provides a meeting point for all radio amateurs and shortwave listeners in the  Rugby area.  Within the club there are people with a wide range of interest and experience in all fields of amateur radio, computing and electronics.

Some meetings are informal, when people can meet and exchange news, solve problems and discuss projects.  Over the years special visits to places of interest such as the Droitwich and Sutton Coldfield commercial transmitter sites have been arranged.  Visits to Amateur Radio Rallies, within a day’s return drive and using shared transport, are regularly organised.

The Society holds three club callsigns, G3BXF, which was granted in 1948; G4APD and G7APD.  These can be used by members at the regular club meetings, or at other times by prior arrangement.  The club has a 40ft tower which supports aerials for most of the amateur bands from top band (160m) to 70cm.  The club also owns a very comprehensive range of test equipment.

The society meets every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm and Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm in the Cricket Pavilion outside the Rugby Radio Station.  The station is located on the eastern side of the A5, 2 miles north of junction 18 of the M1.

Visitors and prospective new members are always welcome to attend any of the club meetings.
